Unless you were living under a rock on Monday night, you watched as my alma mater beat the Oregeon Ducks in the BCS National Championship. If you were one of the few people that missed the game I highly suggest watching it because it was a good football game. Both teams played exceptionally well, which lead to a high energy nurve racking experience.
Post winning the game the entire population that was still in Auburn made our way to Toomer’s Corner for our traditional celebration, rolling qthe trees. In case you are unfamiliar, we take tons of toilet paper and launch it into the live oaks that make Toomer’s their home. The toilet paper turns the entire intersection into what looks like a winter wonderland.
It is quite the experience and Monday night was no exception. The total amount of people there is unclear but it is safe to say it was in the 10’s of thousands. There were people everywhere celebrating. Everyone was buzzing with energy from our teams victory. It was great fun and one of the best experiences of my life. Winning a national championship is a once in a lifetime experience around here and I am glad I was in Auburn to experience it.
Below are some of my pictures from the night. I have also included links to a could of panoramas I did of Toomer’s from Monday night and Tuesday morning. I hope you enjoy them and War Eagle!
