Last week one of my best friends Mike and his new finacé came into town for the first Auburn home game. While they were here we made a trip to Chewacla State Park to take their engagement photos. We chose the location because it fit their personalities, both being active, outdoorsy, and in tune with nature. We made an afternoon of the session hiking around the park, stopping from time to time to take some pictures. I took the couple, and Ness, to one particular area of the park that not a lot of people know about, where we would be a little more secluded on the busy holiday weekend.
Mike has been one of my best friends for quite some time now. We spent a couple years as roommates in college and he is one of the people on my list I know I can call if any problem ever arises and he will be there to help me out. I met Krystal over a year ago while the two of them were on a cycling trip from Lake Michigan to New Orleans. I could not think of anyone that would be better for my friend than her. They are a great couple and it is always a joy to work with two people that are really into each other.
I think the images turned out great and I think they are a good mix of traditional poses as well as allowing their personalities to show through. I really like the engagement portraits because you are able to work with the couple and not have the daunting time restrictions of a wedding day. Things can be a little more relaxed and I can take my time, rather than have to hurry up and think of the fly I can take my time, look at things and breathe.
I hope you enjoy the images.
